5 Pro Tips for a Healthier Work Day

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle at work can be difficult, especially if your job requires you to stay seated at a desk. When the work days are busy, health and fitness can be easily forgotten.

Thankfully, there are ways to combat the busy work days and stay committed to your health and fitness goals.

1. COFFEE RUNS

The workplace is fueled by coffee. Coffee runs are a great way to get out of the office and embrace some Vitamin D. Always volunteer to get the staff coffee. Feel free to add some rigor to your daily coffee run by wearing ankle weights.

2. PAPER CLIPS

Managing portion sizes can be very difficult. A good way to avoid overeating in the workplace is by swapping your fork and spoon for a paper clip. Paper clips will help you manage your portion size through the sheer frustration and difficulty of using them as utensils.

3. FIX THE OFFICE COPIER

There is always one copier in the workplace on the fritz. Step-up and become the brave hero your office deserves. Worn out copy machines are never an easy fix. Studies show that just  15 minutes of a copier workout burns about 330 calories. So roll up those oxford sleeves, grab the toner, and get ready to sweat.

4. DEVIL WEARS PRADA

Not everyone is fortunate to work for a high fashion magazine. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t pretend. Channel your inner Emily Blunt and live as if you work for the cold-blooded Mrs. Priestly and there’s an all-important upcoming gala to attend. Live off of cubes of cheese and wish for the stomach flu (best achieved if you reuse other’s tissues). Designer dresses require hard work.

5. EAT ALL OF YOUR BOSS’ SHIT

Not literally. Human feces is high in saturated fats. Instead, constantly seek out your boss for feedback and criticism about your job performance. As he spouts off ways for you to improve your efficiency, nod your head in a consistent rigorous rhythm. Your boss will think you’ve finally listened to his advice about being more enthusiastic, but you’re actually burning off that chicken curry sandwich you had for lunch. Everybody wins.
